Morning Meditation from The GratiDude
Everybody feels that feeling of apprehension when you are about to try something new and different.
It just goes with the territory that keeping things the same, and not changing, regardless of how the results make you feel, seems to be the easiest path forward for most people.
A “no decision” decision but still a decision.
In complex higher dollar sales with longer sales cycles, 2/3rds of all buying decisions and up with the Buyer deciding NOT to change vendors and to continue with their existing programs and processes.
The Company’s Senior Management realized there are better partners, better solutions, and the Organization was willing to research and look at the alternatives.
Because changes are hard.
In a sales situation like this, the best approach is to be very patient and to do your due diligence in what is called the “discovery” phase of the sales process.
The discovery phase really means unpacking and understanding the state of the union of the business that you were working with so you could paint a picture of what a future state might look like if you were able to create a mutually beneficial partnership involving your good or service being purchased.
By being patient during this discovery phase, you can both understand more clearly where the entire organization is as well as get a clear picture of what the potential could be for the organization to improve and grow, and even flourish with your help.
What you’re doing at that point then is creating a picture of what the “future state “ could look like and how vastly different and improved that future might look like after the buyer pulled the trigger and purchased your solution.
For all of us involved in building our coaching programs here at www.grateful4.org The Grateful4 Organization, we want to know as much detail as possible as to where each of you are in your current state of life experience.
What are the dreams you have been burying?
What do you want to do that you haven’t done? Get up 15 minutes earlier? What is it?
This will give us the ability to show YOU how big the gap is between where you are today and where you could be in the future by employing some practices and teachings from our collective of Sherpas and coaches.
The reality is that this is a difficult piece of information to tease out of someone and only you know how uncomfortable or how big the gap is between your current life and the dreams that you hold near and dear in your heart and mind.
Where the most painful gap exists for many is where there is a gap between you today and you acting on your dreams TODAY.
Are you merely thinking about them, kicking the can down the road, and feeling growing frustration because of a lack of listening to your higher self?
That will eat away at you and create latent anxiety that will manifest in other unhealthy thoughts and behaviors, if you are not careful.
It is scary to push yourself and get out of your comfort zone. But this is where growth happens folks, learning to fly.
Yes, fear can be healthy or unhealthy:
Healthy fear
A natural response to threats helps keep us safe. Healthy fear can motivate us, help us achieve goals, and release tension. For example, hearing a branch snap while camping in the woods is a rational fear.
Unhealthy fear
Fear that's disproportionate, persistent, or based on less reality than threat. Unhealthy fear can prevent us from doing things we enjoy and can be linked to heart problems and a decreased quality of life. For example, an anxiety disorder is a mental health condition that causes fear and other symptoms that are out of proportion to the situation.
It can be hard to tell when fear is crossing the line from healthy to unhealthy. Some things to consider include how much fear is interfering with your life.
Totally OK to be scared like the little man here, that is a big drop for a Little GratiDude!!! There’s no shame in trying and failing because everything we do and experience is an opportunity for growth and learning.
We wear pads and a helmet, and we surround ourselves with good caring people that support us and encourage us.
And then we drop into the half-pipe with a SMILE!
This allows us to fly freely with vigor and without fear, and that’s how we can shine every single day.
We keep breathing and rolling down the street on our longboard skateboard from Santa Cruz Skateboards, with an attitude of gratitude.
