Morning Platitude from The GratiDude
I was just thinking about the fact that I need to isolate the feeling that I have when I recognize my impact from my personal mission of coaching and helping others.
What I mean, specifically, is that I need to recognize how satisfying and gratifying that feeling is when I can hear progress in the form of my clients feeling the impacts of their new neuroscientific labors.
“Oh, this shit is working!”
And what I’m realizing as well is that I need to manage expectations to let folks know that the process of embracing growth and self-knowledge isn’t easy or painless- quite to the contrary.
It hurts to grow.
It’s an act of shedding old skin and old modalities/ways of thinking and moving that no longer serve us or no longer bring us joy, happiness, or contentment. The reality for most folks though is they don’t really know why they’re doing what they’re doing because they don’t really know why they’re thinking what they’re thinking with 95% of their thoughts being from their subconscious that end up steering their ship on some sort of auto pilot that doesn’t look anything like how they want their life to look and feel. That’s primarily because the information that was used to make decisions in your life was not information coming from you inside or from your relationship with your creator or with nature or source, but instead from outside opinions and from people that have motivations that aren’t aligned with your best interests.
That could even be the toothpaste company that is convincing you that your teeth aren’t white enough and you need to switch brands so that you could be happier and have a great love life and meet a partner that is super sexy and that looks like someone on TV.
Just that commercial for toothpaste puts you into a mode of comparing yourself with others and of not feeling as if you are enough in the current moment as you are today.
Which is how they sell you shit, right?
When we are experiencing heart coherence and feeling fully content with our thoughts and feelings through alignment, and through our own conscious breathing and efforts to stay present information and answers to our own internal questions come quite easily, and we are always very comfortable with the answer that pops up. These answers are anxiety, free answers that have little doubt attached to them because these answers come to us in moments of clarity.
To understand what truly makes you happy, focus on activities, relationships, and values that consistently bring you joy, contentment, and a sense of fulfillment. Pay attention to what genuinely uplifts your mood and leaves you feeling positive, and reflect on experiences that evoke a sense of purpose and meaning in your life.
Here's a more detailed approach:
Reflect on your experiences:
Identify positive emotions:
Notice which activities, people, or situations consistently make you feel happy, joyful, or content.
Recognize what brings you a sense of fulfillment:
Consider what activities or experiences make you feel like you're making a positive contribution or living in alignment with your values.
Track your happiness:
Keep a journal or use an app to record moments of joy and identify patterns in what makes you happy.
Understand your core values:
Identify what matters most:
Explore your core values, which are fundamental beliefs that guide your choices and actions.
Align your activities with your values:
Choose activities and pursuits that resonate with your core values, as this can lead to greater happiness and fulfillment.
Prioritize your social connections:
The process of growth is one of an initial transformation to start with a rewire, including daily practices of how you’re talking to yourself and to generate more awareness around your breathing practices as a vehicle to generate more present moment awareness.
As the process of becoming comfortable with your own thoughts increases, silence becomes less threatening, there will be a series of waves and often a tidal wave of information that comes to you in these moments that has been pent up and trying to get through, but has experienced a busy signal when trying to reach you because you were not staying present long enough to receive the call or the message from yourself.
I’m starting to realize that many folks actually know who the troubled relationship is in their past or what some of the limiting beliefs are that they’ve embraced and need to rid themselves of however the process of getting started to unwind this particular issue for most folks seems so daunting and huge.
Where is the first “toe hold” to start the climb?
I know the first step and that is to tell yourself thank you for waking up and for caring enough to embrace some discomfort.
Thank you to my higher self for patiently pursuing my attention and for finding people, circumstances, and events that will help me see the signs that there’s more to life and that I can pursue that “more” for me.
Thank you to my body for housing my spirit, keeping me alive, making the decisions to take nourishment and for being receptive to the information that my mind and soul will be bringing so that we can all work together to create a greater state of unity amongst our soul, mind and body and all of the energetic bodies and waves that we encounter.
What do you want to look like in five years?
Where do you want to be in two years?
What are three places that you want to go before you die that are on your list that you need to start planning for?
Who can you call today and thank for being a positive influence in your life?
Embrace dreaming of your future by embracing living today, authentically, and being connected to your breath.
I’m here to help you if I can you know how to find me just look for the goofy grin and the attitude of gratitude.
